Summer Showroom Tent & D.I.Y. Head Table Scallop

We have saved the best for last in our summer showroom tablescape series. Our summer tent mixes creams and silvers in multiple textures to create a scene of timeless elegance!

While the idea of combining multiple shades of creams together might seem like a cardinal rule not to be tampered with, we strongly disagree. Our team at Event Planning Headquarters ventured to challenge this rule and created a tent full of regal appeal.

The reason why the décor concept of multiple cream shades together works is because each hue is presented in a different texture. Six textures, somerset, damask, satin, pintuck, rosette, and voile, are combined to achieve a sophisticated space.

Silver chiavari’s, silver five arm candelabras, baroque charger plates and paradise platinum dinnerware amplify the luxurious feel in this tent. They also add a soft coolness that makes this décor perfect for every season!

Summer Kick Off

Our team at Special Event Rentals grows substantially in the summer months. To welcome all our new team members as well as show appreciation to our old team members we celebrated with a pancake breakfast.

Our breakfast kicked off bright and early yesterday morning at 5:30am to ensure that our hard working delivery crew would be sent off with a hearty meal before they started their early morning routes. The team got to enjoy fresh pancakes, fruit, hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee.

Something For The Guys – Groom’s Cakes

Groom cakes are increasingly popular at weddings and are most commonly a surprise from the bride. This type of cake is generally created with the groom’s favourite hobby, past time or sports team in mind.

For some brides, the planning process can be an extremely stressful time with countless decisions needing to be made from the venue, food, invitation design and wedding décor to name a few. To show how appreciative and grateful the bride is of her new husband during this stressful time of wedding planning, many brides have a custom groom’s cake made in their honor.

Summer Showroom – A Modern Garden

Our team at Event Planning Headquarters created a whimsical modern garden tablescape. The Mad Hatter from the classic fairytale Alice in Wonderland provided this garden inspired table setting.

The black and white formal stripe linen adds a modern and compelling twist against the bold colours of summer. A lush green hedge, created using our boxwood hedges, adds grandeur and the feeling that you are celebrating at a high estate.

Assortments of flower stems are nestled in various bud vases, while votives provide height variation and a truly unique centerpiece. New gold chateau chairs are the perfect statement chair alongside tiffany blue charger plates and yellow napkins accents.

Summer Showroom – A Mosaic Masterpiece

Love glitz, glam and tiffany blue? If so you will be smitten with the mosaic masterpiece, designed by our team at Event Planning Headquarters.

The blue burnout mosaic overlay adds a modern twist to this glamorous tablescape by transforming the ordinary tiffany linen into a mosaic masterpiece! The magic of the overlay is in the alternating colour squares of white, pink, blue and grey that transforms the solid linen into various shades of blue.

Crystal chateau chairs and iridescent beaded curtains on the backdrop keep the glamorous feel alive and allow the table linen to take centre stage. A white urn, mint julep cups and stocky votives adorn the centre of this table to provide height difference while maintaining guest visibility across the table.

Summer Showroom – Ombre Peach & D.I.Y. Chair Tie Rosette

Our team at Event Planning Headquarters, a division of Special Event Rentals, used this year’s “it” colour, coral, to create a beautiful, vintage table.

Adding ornate items to the centre of the table creates a beautiful one of a kind centerpiece. A card box in the shape of three old books from our retail store, Edmonton Wedding & Party Centre, along with an ornate cake stand, a white bud vase, votive birdcage, a variety of mercury votives and wild floral bunch produces a large statement piece.

To keep the table soft, an ivory lace overlay mutes the bold coral tablecloth on the top and peaks through the scalloped sides. Crystal wine glasses and pearl spiral chargers adds elegance against the vintage limewash chiavaris.

Summer Showroom – Pretty in Pink

With a mix of pink tones, ivory and gold, this table caters to the ladies who love pink and all things feminine!

A bold pink backdrop adorned with ivory frames adds contrast against the softer pink tones on the table. Ivory napkins, menus, candles and two-toned florals help soften and unite the multiple shades of pink.

Custom favour boxes add a subtle texture and a tasty treat while the beautiful gold chiavaris balance this pretty in pink tablescape. For an iridescent effect in the stemmed candleholders, add water or clear water pearls with a floating candle.

Momentum Mag - Bride Entrance on Bike

A growing trend for green and vintage weddings is for brides to arrive on bikes! Peddle your way down the aisle solo or on a tandem bike allowing someone else to peddle as you ride on the back, which is perfect if you will be wearing a slim fitting dress.

Off Beat Bride - Bride Entrance on Zip Line

For the adrenaline bride, surprise your guests and perhaps even your soon-to-be-husband by arriving on a zip line! This entrance will take some preparation and a venue that either has a permanent zip line like a camp, or talk to your venue to see if they will allow a professional team to set up a temporary zip line.

Whether you take the traditional walk down the aisle to your favourite song or an unexpected arrival, we hope that you do it without a hitch!

Do it Yourself Wedding Emergency Kit

We all hope for a smooth and crisis free wedding day; however, on the rare occasion issues do arise. If you opt to hire an onsite wedding planner they typically have their own wedding emergency kit on hand in preparation of a complication. If you are not hiring an onsite wedding planner don’t fret. You can also be ready for any situation on your wedding day by creating your own wedding day emergency kit.

Wedding Emergency Kit

Items you should include in your kit:

  • Mini sewing kit. If you don’t want to buy one create own sewing kit with thread that matches your dress, bridesmaids and a trusty black.
  • A bottle of clear nail polish to stop pesky runs in panty-hoes and prevent nail chips from expanding.
  • Nail file for those untimely hang nails.
  • Band-aids, preferably clear for any cuts or blisters.
  • White chalk to cover up any stains on your wedding dress
  • Lint roller
  • Tape
  • Safety pins
  • Elastics
  • Floss
  • Aspirin
  • Hairspray
  • Bobby pins
  • Eyelash glue
  • Lip chap
  • Lotion
  • Pencil erasers (in case you lose the backs of earrings)
  • Mints
  • Handkerchief
  • Wet naps

Store all these items in a cute medium cosmetic bag for easy transportation and storage. We wish you all the best on your wedding day and hope that you won’t have a need to open up your wedding emergency kit!

Furry Wedding Guests

For some, the thought of getting married without their beloved pooch is unimaginable. The inclusion of pets during the ceremony and/or wedding photos has become increasingly popular with today’s animal loving couples.

Nowadays you can find adorable coloured bow ties, tuxes and dresses for your dog to sport during your special day.  However, if you want to make your furry friend an honorary bridesmaid or groomsman, get their outfit custom made to match your bridal party! If your dog isn’t a fan of wearing anything besides his collar, splurge on a grooming to get your best friend groomed to the nines!
