Paper fans are easy to make and help in creating a whimsical atmosphere for any type of event! Gather your friends and family to spend some quality time make one of a kind paper fans that can be use in a backdrop or to hang around a room.
What you will need:
- Paper (8 ½” x 11” or 12” x 12”)
- Hot glue gun
- Buttons
- Ribbon
- Craft scissors
- Whole punch
- Fishing line
Step 1: On the back of your paper make a mark every inch as a guide on where to fold.
Step 2: On the long side cut the edge of the paper with your crafting scissor to create a fun edge.
Step 3: Once you have marked the back of your paper you can begin to fold the paper lengthwise.
Step 4: Fold the now accordion in half and glue the inside of the accordion together to create a fan shape. You will need to create three of these.
Step 5: Take one fan and glue an edge to another fan. Continue gluing the edges together to create a large pinwheel.
Step 6: Make a circle in your choice of paper or purchase premade circles and glue it to the middle of the pinwheel.
Step 7: Glue your desired embellishments to the centre of the circle. We added a flower button on one and ribbon on the other.
Step 8: Create a small hole with a hole punch to string ribbon or fishing line to create the illusion the paper fans are floating.
