Planning an Elegant Wedding on a Budget

When you have been dreaming of your wedding day from a young age cost is usually the furthest thought when picturing your special day. But now that you have grown up and found that special person to spend the rest of your life with, cost is an unavoidable factor during the wedding planning process. You can still create the elegant wedding of your dreams by following a few simple steps.

First things first, you need to create a budget and stick to it. Once you and your partner have come up with a reasonable wedding budget it can be beneficial to create a list of all the important and not important aspects of your wedding. These aspects would include venue, food, flowers, décor rentals, attire, stationary and DJ to name a few. With this list you can give yourself a guideline for each aspect and if required add and subtract from your different items.

To save some extra costs get crafty and make your own wedding invitations, favours, place card holders and any of crafts you can think of. If you’re not the crafty type you can always save cost by utilizing everything your wedding venue provides. Most venues will provide you with basic linens, tables, chairs and dinnerware.

Rentals are also a great way to get everything you want for your big day without the large cost of purchasing everything. Table runners are easy way to add your wedding colour into the reception, which will also allow you to utilize the linen provided by your venue.

If florals aren’t a top priority on your wedding list keep your centrepiece small with floating candles or water pearls. If you prefer tall centerpieces a candleabra or large pilsner vase is a great choice.

When planning your wedding day don’t forget to breath and enjoy the planning process!
