Morning after photo shoots have recently become a new trend for newly wed couples. If you are unfamiliar with this photography trend it is when a professional photographer takes intimate photos of newlyweds as they wake up for the first time as husband and wife. We wanted to know what industry photographers thought of this new trend so we asked two local photographers to share their thoughts on the topic.
“From the perspective of a married couple, I think that if we were going to have intimate couples portraits taken I wouldn’t want to do it the morning after the wedding – we were so tired, and wanted to enjoy our first day as a married couple together and with our families. I’d probably save that shoot for another day.” – Haley from Shandro Photo
“Mixing wedding and boudoir would be the best thing ever! The session could be sweet and sexy and totally private for just the couple and doesn’t have to be shared with the world, but would be great to capture waking up after such a big day and spend the first few waking hours snuggling is amazing.” – Elizabeth ENV Photography
So far this trend hasn’t spread too wide in the Edmonton area. What are your thoughts on morning after photos? Would you want to capture your first morning together?
