Dreamy Ceremonies

With the promise of spring around the corner and faint memories of what open green spaces look like, I’ve been falling head over heels for the clean and classic look of a white ceremony. I love the diversity and opportunity that a white chair provides in a room. Leave them stark white for a modern appearance or add a fun bright accent to the chairs to reflect your personality. Below are some of my favourite white ceremony images.

A Winter Farewell

Spring is here! Or so they say. What better way to say farewell to Old Man Winter than with a gorgeous winter wedding? For their early February wedding at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald the couple chose a classic winter palette of navy and silver. Touches of sparkle were added with the silver braided table runners and the hand made napkin rings. Alternating fresh floral centerpieces in tall Bella vases commanded attention as guests entered the ballroom. The bride added personal touches at every corner; in the foyer framed quotes about love, as interpreted by the Bride’s kindergarten class were displayed on the cocktail tables.  And in the ballroom, table numbers like 99 which represented “The Approximate Number Of Bottles Of Wine Consumed At The Engagement Party”, and 10 which was in reference to the grade the couple was in when they met.  With sophisticated decor and an ample supply of personalization this couples wedding has us feeling all warm inside.

What’s Your Wedding Style? Vintage Venue & Decor

Classic Vintage

Classic Vintage Decor

The classic vintage bride will be looking for natural light, detailed windows, and Windsor valences with gold accents to compliment her look.

Hotel Macdonald is the quintessential venue for this vintage bride. With deep rooted history and original Waterford china pattered ceilings. However, if you are looking for local charm than Fort Edmonton Park is a place where time has stopped and you can experience your wedding day as if it was 1885. If you are looking for southern charm than MaGrath Mansion is the perfect ceremony site or convocation hall for its exposed brick detail.

Details such as old jars, lace, pearls, and stationary complete this look.

Rustic Vintage

Rustic Decor

The rustic vintage bride will be looking for country charm and wood details in her venue to compliment her decor.

Old timers cabin is perfect, with their large brick fireplace and light fixtures while venues like Country Lodge and Blue Meadows Halls offer gorgeous outdoor space complete with wheat fields and horses.

Decor items such as mason jars and wood chiavaris tied with burlap will complete this wedding style.

Bold Romantic

The Edmonton Petroleum Club offers a great venue for a Bold Romantic wedding reception, with its elegant stone work, dark panelling and chandeliers it creates the perfect setting for a candle light reception.

Dress up the space with a deep red garnet pintuck linen, black chiavari chairs and top the guest tables off with an ornate candelabra with a red rose floral touch. Or venture outside the dark palette and let some gold in with your centrepiece, chairs and chargers.

A Romantic Transformation

With a few adjustments our team transformed what was once a soft romantic setting for two into a sultry tablescape. By removing the ice pink details and introducing darker hues, black and pewter, the table has been radically altered into a striking and dark romantic table. Enjoy Centre Displays

If you have recently been to the Enjoy Centre you might have noticed two of our table displays located on the two ledges off the main entrance of the lower level market. Taking inspiration from the green house, either of these table settings would be the perfect design for a summer wedding or event. Both of the display tables at the Hole’s Enjoy Centre are designed by Lynne Motoska of Event Planning Headquarters.

Parisian Romance

Romance cascades from every detail of our spring tent display. The décor plays with multiple textures from the white orchids set against an ivory rosette panel backdrop to the ivory somerset linen and lace lucerne linen draped on the head table. This romantic display was designed by Jenelle Jamani of Event Planning Headquarters.

Love Is In The Air

February is a month all about love.  Romance is definitely in the air and I have found myself falling hard for the Pink French Pleat linen.  It was absolutely love at first sight for me!  The gorgeous texture and subtle blush color seems to be something out of a boutique Parisian hotel.  I was inspired to put together a table that would be soft and romantic.  Simplicity is the key here; a floral centerpiece loosely arranged in a bowl and some flickering candles really highlight the linen.  It’s perfect for a February wedding, or perhaps a proposal dinner!

If you prefer cooler tones over bright colours then you will love this peacock inspired tablescape. We think the intricate bows wrapped around the chiavari chairs are marvelous! Shannon Cosgrove of Special Event Rentals designed this tablescape.
