DIY: Lace Block Letters

Monogram is so on trend these days and if you have the time, there are easy ways to showcase your personal style. Incorporate this trend into event decor for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries or even as everyday pieces in your home decor.

DIY: Lace Block Letters

  • Wooden letter
  • Spray paint in two colours
  • Lace Pattern
  • Newspaper
  • Rubber gloves

Step 1: In a well-ventilated space, place the wooden letter on the newspaper to protect your surface. Coat each letter with your base colour. Wait until this layer has dried before moving on to the next step.

Step 2: Attach your lace pattern over the letter. It is helpful to tape the pattern onto the back of the letter block to prevent the lace from moving about. Once you have covered your letter blocks with the lace you can take your second colour of spray paint and apply it over the lace pattern.

Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then slowly and carefully remove the lace pattern (wear your rubber gloves for this part). If you leave this on for too long it will adhere to the letter and either pull paint off of the lace will be stuck to the letter. When you have removed all of the lace from the letter let them dry completely. When they have dried you can use your newly decorated letters as you see fit.
