Oh Canada! This July 1st Canadian’s from coast to coast will celebrate our nation’s 149th Birthday! Celebrating Canada Day 2016 in the beautiful province of Alberta? Here are just a few of the fabulous events & activities planned in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Banff.
➸ Canada Day at the Alberta Legislature
Events start at 10am and go until 7pm. Be sure and check out the food truck and vendors on site!
➸ Mill Woods Celebrates Canada Day
Enjoy free family activities at Mill Woods Park from 1pm – 11pm.
➸ Canada Day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo
Celebrate Canada Day 2015 with family friendly activities all day long from 11am – 4pm for the cost of regular admission. Lucy the Elephant is also celebrating her 40th birthday, so join in more birthday fun!
➸ Canada Day at City Hall
Head down to Edmonton’s City Hall for free fun for all ages between 12pm – 4pm.
➸ Dominion Day at Fort Edmonton Park
Join Edmonton’ s historic Fort Edmonton Park for a day of fun for the whole family. Celebrate our great nation from 10am – 5pm.
➸ Fireworks at 11pm
Great viewing locations include Alberta Legislature Grounds, Victoria Park, RiverValley Road, Ezio Faraone Park, Dantzer’s Hill, TELUS Field, and Government House Park.
➸ First Nations Powwow
Head down to Prince’s Island Park from 10am – 6:00pm to celebrate Canada’s heritage with incredible cultural performances.
➸ Canada Day at Fort Calgary
Celebrate all things Canadian at Fort Calgary from 9am – 4pm with a free pancake breakfast, live entertainment and so much more.
➸ Canada Day Eau Claire Market
Enjoy entertainments, a petting zoo, face painting, free ice cream and so much more from 11am – 11pm at Calgary’s Eau Claire Market.
➸ Spruce Meadows Run Series – Heroes behind the Heroes
Celebrate July 1st at Calgary’s renowned Spruce Meadows with a 5km run with family friendly obstacles and a splash zone.
➸ Performances Riverfront Stage
Celebrate Canada Day 2015 with some of our nation’s most acclaimed rock, pop, folk and indie artists at the Riverfront Stage between 7pm – 11pm.
End Canada Day 2015 with a bang! Fireworks will light up Calgary’s gorgeous skyline at approximately 10:45pm. Watch the show from one of the many great viewing locations along the Bow River.

Join the Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society at Bower Ponds for an array of cultural performances featuring many talented performers between 11:30am – 11pm

Nothing says Canada Day like fireworks. Wrap up July 1st with a stunning firework display at Bower Ponds beginning at 11pm.
➸ Canada Day 2016
Celebrate our nation’s birthday with activities and events all day long in Banff’s Central Park. Events start at 12pm with the opening ceremonies and run until the 11pm fireworks.
➸ Canada Day Parade
Join the Town of Banff for their famous parade down the historic Banff Avenue at 5pm.
Watch as the night sky is illuminated with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at 11pm. Central park offers the best views for the show!
