Valentine's Day Popcorn
Valentine’s Day Popcorn

We love February because it automatically allows us to eat more chocolate, candy, junk food… and whatever else suits our fancy! With that being said we were rather excited to make this sweet treat and it ended up being a lot easier than we thought! YAY!

Below are the directions for making the best Valentine’s Day Popcorn. Happy Popping! Valentine's Day Popcorn

Step 1: Popping The Popcorn

Pop ½ cup of popcorn kernels to yield 8 cups of popped popcorn

➸ You can use whichever method you prefer to pop the corn OR you can call the Special Event Rentals location nearest you to rent one because they are 25% off for the entire month of February! {Not to mention how cute they are!}

Step 2: Choosing The Candy

If you chose 4 different sweets, you will need approximately 4 cups in total.

➸ To make our delicious Valentine’s Day Popcorn, we used red & pink Smarties, cherry licorice pieces, mini marshmallows & heart shaped sprinkles because we love sweet & salty mixed with chocolate and chewy candy {hello, sugar overload!}

Step 3: Melting The Marshmallows

Before you start melting anything on the stove, prepare a cookie sheet or tray with oil or cooking spray & lay your popcorn in an even layer. Melt your butter in a sauce pan and add your mini marshmallows, keep stirring until the last marshmallow has melted, and then pour the melty-marshmallow-deliciousness as evenly as you can over your popcorn. Then sprinkle your candy on popcorn. If you are using mini marshmallows like we did, add them last.

➸ If you are an experienced marshmallow-melter you can melt whichever quantities of butter and marshmallow  you like but we used 3 tablespoons of butter and 3 cups of marshmallow.

Step 4: Let It Dry

WARNING: This is the most difficult step! We say this because we went through a lot because we wanted to eat it so badly. It only has to dry for 10 minutes… you can do it!
